THE STORY
Why we love what we do
Knegleshia Smothers-Cobb, founder, was inspired by family and friends to create a personalized service to meet clients' beauty and fashion needs. The concept of Style Haven was birthed out of a passion and a love for hair and shopping. The philosophy behind Style Haven was to blend the best of what Knegleshia absolutely loves and use it to build self-esteem and character based on biblical principles.
As a child, it was clear that Knegleshia would inevitably be a part of the beauty industry with her keen attention to hair, colors and patterns. During her college days at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, she was sought after in the girls dorm rooms to create various hairstyles and weaves. After graduating, with a B.A. in Communications/Public Relations, Knegleshia enrolled in J.F. Drake State Technical College in the Cosmetology program. Her passion for the hair and beauty industry would continue to flourish as she attended various hair shows and classes in Alabama and Georgia. Later, she enrolled in the University of Phoenix where she completed a M.A. in Business Administration. In January 2014, Knegleshia officially launched her beauty business, Style Haven.
As a personal stylist, Knegleshia's gift lead to opportunity. Recently, she was appointed as Public Relations Director on the board of the Alabama Fashion Alliance. Hitting the ground running, Knegleshia worked with Fashion WeekEND Alabama 2013, which included the participation of local and national fashion designers, runway fashion models, make-up and hair designers, retailers, fashion photographers and videographers. She was also featured as one of the lead stylist for Fashion Week 2014 for Kohl's menswear. In addition, Knegleshia served as the personal assitant to Victoria Henley, American Next Top Model Cycle 19.
Knegleshia is devoted to making every one of her customers feel their very best. Her passion and God given talent radiates from the inside out. She is a devoted wife and mother of three residing in Madison, Alabama.
